Looking to transform your home into the ultimate calisthenics spot? The Pull Up Bar and Dip Bars designed for wall mounting are just what you need. While beginner-friendly options like door pull up bars or mobile solutions are great, a sturdy wall-mounted version offers increased stability, higher load capacity, and a secure setup for various exercises like pull ups, dips, muscle ups, and static holds such as the front lever. This guide will walk you through the installation process step by step, ensuring you can focus fully on your training.

Essentials for Installation

Before you begin, make sure you have all the necessary parts and tools at hand. Each delivery of the GORNATION wall-mounted Pull Up Bar or Dip Bars includes key components: the steel pieces of your equipment, the appropriate screws, washers and wall plugs, along with a detailed manual.

You’ll also need standard tools like a drill with the correct bit (10 mm masonry bit for concrete or brick walls, 4 mm bit for wood), a spirit level, a measuring tape, a wrench, and a pen or pencil for marking drill holes. Having everything ready beforehand will save you time and hassle during setup.

Step-by-Step Installation Guide

Step 1 – Assess Your Wall

Not all walls are suitable for wall-mounted Pull Up Bar and Dip Bars. Concrete or solid brick walls are ideal as they offer maximum stability and can handle training loads effectively. Mounting on aerated concrete walls like Ytong is possible but requires special plugs. Avoid installing on drywall or thin partition walls, as they are not load-bearing.

If you’re unsure, seek advice from your local hardware store or a professional before proceeding.

Step 2 – Assemble the Equipment

Before attaching to the wall, assemble the Pull Up Bar following the provided instructions. The Dip Bars are ready for installation right away. Ensure screws are tightened evenly without overdoing it. If the Pull Up Bar feels secure, it’s ready to be mounted.

Step 3 – Mark Drill Holes

Position the Pull Up Bar and/or Dip Bars where you plan to mount them. The height depends on your preference, ensuring enough clearance for various exercises. Use a spirit level to align them accurately and mark all drill holes carefully with a pen or pencil. It’s best to have assistance for this step.

Step 4 – Drill and Insert Wall Plugs

For concrete or brick walls, use a 10 mm masonry bit to drill about 80 mm deep. For wood, a 4 mm bit will suffice. After drilling, insert the provided wall plugs ensuring they are flush with the wall for maximum stability.

Step 5 – Mount the Equipment

With assistance, position the Pull Up Bar or Dip Bars and insert and tighten the screws evenly. Ensure everything is securely in place without over-tightening to avoid damage.

Step 6 – Safety Check and Final Test

Before commencing your workout, perform a safety check by hanging from the Pull Up Bar and testing the stability. For the Dip Bars, support yourself and test with small movements. If everything is stable, your equipment is ready for use. Enjoy your workout!
