Ellen has an impressive athletic background, having competed in two Olympics, represented the National Team eight times, and earned five World Cup Medals in Rowing. She made history as a member of the 2009 USA Women’s Double (W2x) crew, the first American team to win this event at a major World Rowing Regatta. Unfortunately, injuries kept her from competing in the 2010-2011 World Championships and the 2012 London Olympics. However, Ellen made a strong comeback and was part of the 2013-2016 USA W2x, competing in the 2016 Rio Olympics. Her sights are now set on training for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
A multi-sport athlete in high school, Ellen discovered her passion for rowing during her freshman year at the University of Michigan, where she earned a degree in Economics. With over 14 years of rowing experience, including 10 years at the elite level, Ellen has also shared her expertise as a personal trainer, coach, and rowing instructor. Outside of rowing, Ellen enjoys various outdoor activities like running, hiking, biking, paddle boarding, and swimming. Post-Olympics, Ellen plans to continue her work in sports and wellness as a coach and personal trainer.
