Calm Your Racing Mind
Seeking happiness has consumed my thoughts for so long
Yet everything in life is impermanent.
Recognizing the dissatisfaction in everyday experiences
I choose to keep my mind grounded.
Redirecting harmful habits
Embracing the peace and tranquility within,
I find joy in the serenity I’ve uncovered
Through the calmness deep within.
May the clear and luminous nature of my mind
Shine through without being clouded by old habits;
Residing in the natural stillness of the mind
I see all perceptions as mere reflections.
Without clinging or rejecting sensory experiences,
I view them as passing ripples and waves
In the vast sea of my meditative mind
Absorbing them into the clear ocean of my mind.
As I focus on my meditation posture
Let my physical self express a deep longing
To connect with the calm and expansive nature of the mind
And transcend any body-related issues.
Inhaling brings positivity into me
Flowing through my nervous system;
Like the morning sun dispelling darkness
Easing any discomfort or pain.
Holding the breath, I sustain
Vigilance and alertness
Allowing me to release the past
And fully embrace the present moment.
Exhaling releases tension, anger, and worry
Like dark clouds dissipating
Letting go of negativity to welcome a fresh start.
Breathing mindfully
Embracing each moment with awareness
Without anticipating the future
Living fully present in each moment.
Respecting the wisdom of sages
Applying their teachings in all aspects of life
To act without causing harm
And avoiding negative consequences.
Observing thoughts without judgment
Not getting too attached to meditation progress
Or discouraged by lack of focus.
Relaxing the senses is not true meditation
Avoiding excitement over minor progress
Focusing on taming the mind like a wild elephant.
Using mindfulness and awareness
Seeking to understand the root of restlessness.
Realizing all external experiences reflect within
Sharing and giving to others
Finding joy in letting go and cherishing others.
How can I hold onto what I’ve received from others?
Letting go creates space for joy
Cherishing others leads to lasting happiness.
