Once a month, we gaze at the sky and soak in the energy of the universe. This month, the Full Beaver Moon is not just any supermoon—it will be at its brightest on Wednesday, November 5 at 8:19 AM EST. Although it will be below the horizon at that time, make sure to look up on the evenings of November 4 and 5 for the best view. Being the second supermoon of 2025, the Super Beaver Moon will be the closest to the earth, just 221,817 miles (356,980 kilometers) away, making it the largest and brightest supermoon of the year. The final supermoon of 2025—the Super Cold Moon—will grace us on December 4.
November Astronomical Activity
The Super Beaver Moon kicks off a month filled with astronomical events. Right around the peak of the supermoon is the Southern Taurid meteor shower. Following that, around November 11–12, is the peak of the Northern Taurid meteor shower with its stunning fireballs. The Leonids will follow around November 17-18, bringing with them up to 15–20 meteors per hour.
In November, winter constellations in the Northern Hemisphere become more prominent. While we admire the brightness of the supermoon, the moon will pass by the Pleiades constellation, also known as the Seven Sisters, on November 6. Orion, Taurus, and Gemini will be visible, along with Uranus, which will be closest to the earth on November 21. To catch a glimpse of Uranus, you will need a clear night sky and a good pair of binoculars or a telescope. November 20, being a new moon, will provide the perfect backdrop for viewing Uranus.
Women and the Moon Family
As the Super Beaver Moon lights up the night sky, we honor the moon’s power and the power of women. Women belong to the moon family—the most potent family. While the sun shines every day, the full moon is visible for just one day each month, balancing a month’s worth of Qi in a single beautiful display. Women hold this invisible power.
In the full moon, we see the balance of yin and yang, day and night, invisible and visible. When the full moon shines, it affects the ocean tides and every one of us. Just as the ocean covers 70% of Earth, the human body is about 70% water.
All life on Earth is influenced by the moon. That is the strength and vitality within you. The moon is always there, behind you. The invisible holds more power than the visible.
